Marylou Vosburgh is a native of Latham, NY and a graduate of Shaker High School and Castleton State College in Vermont where she played lacrosse and field hockey . She started the girl’s lacrosse program at Averill Park High School where she has been a Physical Education Teacher since 1987. She was the youngest head coach in the NCAA at age 22 for Siena College Field Hockey.

In 1996, Vosburgh became The University at Albany Women’s Lacrosse Coach for the next 6 years. She guided the Great Danes from Division 2 to Division 1 level. Vosburgh was the Varsity Head Lacrosse coach at Colonie High School, and coached the Empire State games to a bronze medal in 2010. The first medal for the Adirondack region. She served for one year for Albany School District as the modified coach.

Currently, Vosburgh is the JV Girl’s Lacrosse Coach at Guilderland High School, she also helps with the Varsity team. She has been an Albany Elite Club Coach for the past six years and the lacrosse director for Capitalland Lacrosse since 1986.

About Empire State Cup

The Empire State Cup was designed in 2012 to give high school boys lacrosse players in the state of New York another opportunity to be seen and recruited playing at the highest level of competition possible.

The 2015 Cup will introduced a new format with 3 divisions for boys and girls lacrosse and a brand new 7 v 7 football division.

Lacrosse Divisions are by graduation year 2015, 2017 & 2019. Players can only play for one division, and are eligible to play up a level.

ESC now has introduced football with two divisions of 7 v 7

Graduation years 2016 & 2018.

The cup is designed to see who indeed is the best region in the Empire State.
